Combing The Role Of NMN in Improving Immunity in Three Aspects

Feb 06, 2023 / Author: China Glutathione suppliers & NMN manufacturers

Recently, many scientists at home and abroad have discovered that NAD+ seems to be able to improve the immunity of the human body, and it has been verified in animal and human clinical experiments. This article will sort out the effect of NMN on improving immunity from three aspects.

1. Inflammation consumes a lot of NAD+, supplementing NAD+ may be a new way to treat the new crown

The latest research results have found that the severity of the novel coronavirus may be related to the consumption of NAD+ in the human body.

The Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in Iran has found that the new coronavirus can cause lung cells to generate a large amount of reactive oxygen species, which can cause DNA damage. However, lung cell repair requires a large amount of the DNA repair enzyme PARP-1. The generation of PARP-1 will lead to a large consumption of NAD+ in the human body, resulting in a shortage of Adenosine Triphosphate, so that cells will die due to insufficient nutrients, and aggravate inflammation.

Supplementing the precursor NMN of NAD+ is considered to be a new and feasible way to reduce inflammation and treat new crowns.

1.2 NAD+ can effectively inhibit the new coronavirus

Current research shows that after the new coronavirus enters the human body, the innate immunity in the body will be activated to protect the body itself. The most critical part is the transcription of a large range of PARPs. The role of PARPs can effectively inhibit virus replication, but this requires the consumption of a large amount of NAD+ to generate PARPs.

Additional NAD+ supplementation can directly help the body quickly enter the innate immune system and accelerate the inhibition of the replication of the new coronavirus.

1. 3It is recommended that the elderly should supplement NMN to prevent new coronaviruses

In May 2020, Amber L. Mueller of Harvard Medical School published a paper stating that increasing the level of NAD+ in the human body may inhibit the infection of the new coronavirus.

Its findings suggest that low levels of NAD+ increase the risk of infection with the novel coronavirus. It has also been suggested that additional supplementation of NAD+ precursors, such as NMN and NR, with COVID-19 may be a therapeutic approach for 2019-nCoV, especially in the elderly population.

1.4 NAD+ and SIRT1 may be the key substances to prevent the attack of new coronavirus

South African scholar R. Miller's research on NAD and SIRT1 activators as a new coronavirus treatment concluded that NAD+ deficiency can impair SIRT1 function. SIRT1 is involved in obesity-related metabolic diseases, cancer, aging, cellular senescence, cardiac aging and stress, prion-mediated neurodegeneration, inflammatory signaling responses to environmental stress, embryonic development of the brain, spinal cord and dorsal root ganglia, and placental cells play a key role in survival. SIRT1 inhibits the expression of ADAM17 against the novel coronavirus. ADAM17 is a protease-encoding gene. ADAM17 contributes to the proteolytic cleavage of cytokine receptors for TNF-α and IL-6 for their activity. The reduction of SIRT1 leads to the inability to normally suppress the expression of ADAM17, resulting in a surge of TNF-α and IL-6. COVID-19 may be caused by an uncontrolled excessive inflammatory response.

In view of the above, the activation of SIRT1 may be a key factor in the prevention of inflammatory responses, and may be necessary for successful defense against 2019-nCoV attack. Susceptible patient populations with low NAD+ levels are unable to ensure sufficient SIRT1, thus leading to failure to control 2019-nCoV replication and reduced expression of inflammatory cytokines in vivo.

COVID-19: NAD deficiency may predispose the aged, obese and type2 dia-betics to mortality through its effect on SIRTI activity

Summary: Through the above research, it can be concluded that NAD+ can inhibit the cytokine storm in patients with the new coronavirus, help the body quickly enter the innate immune system to resist the virus, give cells energy, and reduce cell death.
