Coenzyme Q is a naturally occurring coenzyme, present in the tissues and cells of all species, mainly located in the inner membrane of mitochondria, is formed by combining benzoquinone ring with isoprenoid chain, the length of the side chain varies from species to species, in the human mitochondria, coenzyme Q mainly contains 10 isoprene groups, so it is named CoQ10.
Coenzyme Q10 is mainly synthesized in mitochondrial membranes, and a small part is obtained through diet.
